From pet writers at BlogPaws in Kansas City to foodies at Everything Food Conference in Utah, 2018 has already been a busy year filled with new faces for the Mediavine team. We love meeting publishers in person, so we travel across the country (and continent) to as many blogging conferences as we can squeeze in. Earlier this summer, Jenny and Susannah ventured to hot and humid Houston, Texas for a whirlwind weekend at the Blog Elevated conference. This event typically happens annually in a multi-day conference format, but this year was waylaid by last summer’s Hurricane Harvey. Texas was devastated by flooding, and many in Houston lost their homes. Instead, the organizers are planning several one-day workshops throughout the year to keep local bloggers connected and on the cutting edge. On June 30th, we celebrated National Social Media Day. When the organizers of Blog Elevated reached out […]Read more
Mediavine works with bloggers of all niches, from travel to finance, but the food niche will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you’re familiar with how Mediavine got started, you’ll know that we started with ads on our own food site, Food Fanatic, and branched out to helping our Food Fanatic writers — other bloggers — with ads on their sites. Since then, we’ve expanded to more than 3,300 sites that cover a multitude of topics, but our food blogging roots mean we love food blogging conferences. It’s not just because we really love to eat! We love to get out in the world and meet fellow bloggers, as you’ll recall from our trips to San Francisco for Pinterest’s first conference and Kansas City for BlogPaws earlier this year, as well as our own Mediavine Conference in San Jose. This year we […]Read more

It might seem a little bananas to go into this much detail on the Mediavine dashboard, but we’re committed to transparency — and your success — here at Mediavine. So today I’m excited to give you Part Two of our behind-the-scenes tour of the publisher dashboard. This series is for YOU — whether you’re considering a switch to Mediavine, or you’re already one of our MVPs and want to know more about all the settings in your dashboard and how to customize them for your website. Last week I walked you through the main reporting data of your Mediavine dashboard, and today we’re going even further behind the scenes into the settings. This is the part of the dashboard that’s arguably the most fun: Using the tools at hand to help you fine tune your ads for user experience, boost RPMs and, ultimately, make more […]Read more
Data is complicated. If there’s one thing I learned in my college statistics class, it’s that. Before I ever worked here, I was (and still am!) a publisher for my site Feast + West. From the first days I was with Mediavine for my ads, I have loved the way they make complex data easy to understand. The multi-faceted reporting and customizable settings available in the dashboard are unmatched. With other ad management companies, I had never seen anything this detailed. After more than a year in Publisher Support and now as part of our Marketing team, I see the value in our dashboard more than ever. From settings you can change to help you earn even more, to reporting that gives you a top-down view of how well your ads are doing, the Mediavine dashboard is pivotal to a publisher’s success with their ad […]Read more
The design of your site is everything. That’s your logo, your website layout, even your fonts and colors. All of it plays a big part in how your brand comes off to readers and potential sponsors. Your website is your storefront, and how it looks makes all the difference in getting people in the door. The design of your site can play a big part in how you earn, too. I’m Susannah, and I work in Publisher Support here at Mediavine, so I look at sites all day long. Before I worked here I ran my own freelance graphic design business and I also have a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. I will happily nerd out about fonts to anyone who dares! That also means I get it when publishers want to spice things up. A theme change is a great way to give your […]Read more
