Mediavine Case Study: Salt & Lavender

There’s a dirty rumor going around: Ads are bad for SEO.  At Mediavine, there’s not much that we love to focus on more than SEO. Pagespeed is our other company passion and we all know that it goes with SEO like peas and carrots. In fact, Mediavine began as an SEO contract firm and we built our owned and operated websites on the power of strong SEO. To this day, search engines are what fuel traffic to Mediavine’s sites, so everything we do with ads keeps SEO front of mind. You can read more about how Mediavine ads play nicely with SEO in Eric’s post. It’s our passion for SEO that we love passing onto our publishers, via our Facebook lives, help center and blog in posts such as our ultimate SEO checklist and other SEO resources. When you succeed, we all succeed.  That’s why […]

Writing a blog can certainly be risky.  From publishing your very first post to taking the leap to go full-time, blogging is sometimes a nerve-wracking venture.  Some Mediavine publishers add a whole other layer of risk — our travel bloggers who roam the world and share their experiences (and gorgeous pics) on their sites.  We’ve talked to a few of them in the past, like Jeremy Jones of Living the Dream RTW, solo female traveler Kristin Addis from Be My Travel Muse and Andrzej Ejmont’s family of travelers at Wanderlust Storytellers. Today we’re excited to add another to this adventurous mix.  Meet Amanda Williams of A Dangerous Business, a travel publisher who took the plunge into blogging full time. We’re so excited to sit down with her and chat about her journey.

We’re almost three weeks into January, and our team is knee-deep in conference planning. Something we adore about planning conferences is getting to pick out gorgeous venues, decide on delicious food to serve and choosing our line-up of awesome speakers.  For the last two years, our Mediavine conferences have provided a plethora of knowledge from a spectrum of hand-picked speakers. (Just check out our YouTube channel for a sampling.) This year for our TWO events in Chicago and Austin, we expect DOUBLE the information overload.  We’re so excited to have Karli Bitner of Cooking with Karli on the blog today! She’ll be speaking about traffic growth at our 2019 Mediavine Conference in Chicago in June, but today she’s sharing with us how she got started with blogging, how she makes time for her website alongside her busy family and her strategies for growth.  We’re so […]

Dan Western, Wealthy Gorilla

Wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to build such a successful business that you can drop everything and go live abroad or be able to travel more often?  Many of our Mediavine travel publishers have done just that, like Kristin Addis from Be My Travel Muse, Gary Arndt of Everything Everywhere and Andrzej Ejmont of Wanderlust Storytellers. But Mediavine’s not just for travel bloggers (or any one type of publisher, for that matter!) Take our publisher Dan Western of Wealthy Gorilla, for example. He’s 23 years old, lives in and runs his website from Bali and travels Southeast Asia in his spare time. Sounds like a dream, right?  It’s not! It’s totally real.  We invited Dan to the Mediavine blog today to tell us all about his life as a content creator.
